At the Mobile World Conference earlier this year, the Taiwanese manufacturer impressed everyone with their One series of Android 4.0(ICS) phones. HTC had demonstrated three models for India – HTC One X and the HTC One V. The HTC One X is a Tegra 3 based quad core beast and the HTC One V is the mid range Android 4 phone. HTC had recently announced in a press conference at Singapore that these phones would be coming to India on April 2nd.

HTC One Series

The HTC One X is the company’s new flagship model running on a quad core Tegra 3 processor with 1GB of RAM. The ULP GeForce GPU is used for all the graphics needs. The HTC One X has a large 4.7″inch SuperIPS LCD2 screen that sports a HD resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The display has a pixel density of 312 ppi (close to that of the RETINA display on the iPhone -330ppi) and hence super sharp images can be guaranteed. An internal memory of 32GB is what all we get and there is no microSD card support. The 8MP camera can record 1080p videos with continuous autofocus.

The HTC One S is a little less powerful than the One X, but still one of the top end phones with a 1.5GHz dual core Krait processor and 1GB RAM with Adreno 225 GPU. The screen size has been reduced to 4.3″inch, but this time the display is SuperAMOLED one. The resolution of the screen is 960×540 pixels (somewhat odd). The internal memory is limited to 16GB and there is no microSD card support. The 8MP camera is the same and can do 1080p videos. The HTC One S has not been scheduled for release in India yet.

The HTC One V is the affordable Android 4.0 phone coming with a humble 1GHz processor and accompanied by 512MB RAM. A regular 3.7inch LCD screen sporting a resolution of 480×800 pixels is used. The internal memory is 4GB, but there is support for microSD card up to 32GB. There is a 5MP camera and it can do 720p videos at 30fps.

The pricing has not been announced yet, but going by the prices in other countries, the prices can be predicted. The HTC One X is expected to cost around Rs38000 while the HTC One V falls around Rs 18000.
