Apple turned around the smart phone display with its RETINA display because of the high pixel density (331ppi). LG has simply outdone Apple here. Apple iPhone4 and iPhone 4S have 3.5inch screens with a resolution of 640 x 960 and because of the small screen size, the pixel density is high. LG has come up with a 5inch screen of 1080p resolution which means that the pixel density will be 440ppi (far higher than the iPhone).
The new 5inch HD display with aspect ratio 16:9 was shown off by LG today and we are very likely to see the display in action in a phablet that LG will be releasing after the Optimus Vu. The amazing 5inch 1080p display is based on Advanced High Performance In Plane Switching(AH-IPS) technology. The full HD LCD display will allow the users to view their multimedia content on a 5inch HD display with absolute clarity and crispness.
Although LG has showed off the display, there was no official confirmation that the next phablet from LG will be using this display. LG has kept its mouth shut when asked about the manufacturers who have ordered to manufacture these displays.
