The much expected event of the year lived up to its expectation and we got to see something we were expecting. Nokia did not disappoint this time. Nokia World 2011 took place with the announcement of a couple of much awaited Nokia series of Windows Phones and also four Series S40 phones.

Nokia World 2011 – Nokia’s Asha(Hope) Series of phones

The first phones to be unveiled were Nokia’s most popular Series S40 series of phones. A total of four phones were announced which Nokia World 2011 includes – Nokia 200, 201, 300 and 303.

The Nokia 200 will be a dual SIM QWERTY phone that is very similar to the already popular Nokia C3. The Nokia 201 is a similar looking single SIM device. Both the phones have been equipped with the loudest speakers and also Whatsapp messenger comes with the phone making messaging even better. Both the phones support microSD cards up to 32GB. The Nokia 200 will cost around Rs4000 and will be available by the end of the year. The Nokia 201 will cost around the same Rs4000 while it will be available in the starting of next year.

The Nokia 300 will be a 1GHz processor phone that features Series S40 and also a 5MP snapper. The Nokia 300 will not be a dual SIM phone. It is a 2.6″ inch capacitive touch screen along with a QWERTY keypad. The Nokia 303 is again on the similar lines with a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera. It will feature Nokia’s cloud browser which ensures 90% reduced data consumption. Apart from the Whatsapp messenger, the touch screen phones will have Angry Birds. Both the phones will be available at the end of the year and the Nokia 303 will cost around Rs5500 and the Nokia 300 will be costing around Rs4700 as announced in the Nokia World 2011.

The Nokia World 2011 event did not disappoint the people who had turned out by announcing its much expected Windows Phones.

The first Nokia Windows Phone to appear on stage was the Nokia Lumia 800. The Nokia Lumia 800 has borrowed its looks from the MeeGo sibling – Nokia N9. The Nokia Lumia 800 comes with a 3.7″inch ClearBlack AMOLED screen, 1.4GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage and also 512MB of RAM. Also the phone has inbuilt free voice guided navigation which is a result of the Nokia Drive app. The camera behind the Nokia Lumia 800 is 8MP camera and it is also capable of recording 720p videos at 30fps. The Nokia 800 will be available for Rs21,000.

The next Windows Phone to appear on stage at the Nokia World 2011 is Nokia 710. The Nokia 710 is a little smaller on the specification types. It has the same 1.4GHz processor but the AMOLED screen is replaced with LCD screen. A 5MP camera takes the place of the 8MP snapper. As a result of the compromised features, the Nokia 710 will be available for Rs14,000.

After Nokia World 2011

The Nokia World 2011 announced the much expected Windows phones from Nokia, but will the phones be enough to take care of the Androids. The after events of Nokia World 2011 will tell the tale.
